South Iredell Senior Center offers a variety of exercise programs for all levels of fitness and ability.
An exercise room with equipment, table tennis, a walking program, and on-going exercise classes promote increased strength and flexibility, along with an opportunity for learning and fun.
The senior center, together with local hospitals and care providers, conducts weekly blood pressure screenings, quarterly hearing screenings, bi-annual vision screenings, and other health services periodically throughout the year.
Most services are provided at no or little cost. Seminars and workshops provide seniors with up-to-date information on relevant health issues.
The South Iredell Senior Center keeps seniors socially active with their peers, who share common interests and life experiences.
Seniors may come to the center for special social events, senior theater productions, art shows, clubs, senior trips, card, and board games, billiards, Mooresville walking history tours, parties, dances, luncheons, and picnics.
Counseling is available at the senior center on long term care, nursing home and assisted living, Social Security, legal matters, and senior insurance through the Seniors' Health Insurance Information Program.
SISC hosts the AARP Tax-Aide program for free income tax filing. Free legal services are also available.
The center's information referral and assistance services can help connect seniors to community resources.
