Iredell COA, at its inception some 50 years ago, was designated by the Iredell County Board of Commissioners as “the focal point on aging” for the County.

Since that time, the COA has established award-winning Senior Centers in both Mooresville and Statesville, further enhancing both the scope and breadth of programs available to Iredell’s older adult population.

Senior Centers

Active older adults in Iredell County are invited to participate in both senior centers' programs, services, and activities. The senior centers provide a place for older adults to join together for fun, recreation, and learning and to receive services. There is no membership fee, but some classes and special events have a fee. Many services are available without charge to call Iredell County seniors, sixty years of age, and better.

The two senior centers' services and activities include:

health screenings, health and wellness classes, exercise, workout equipment, billiards, table tennis, shuffleboard, art classes, needlecraft groups, woodcarving, chorus, theatre, dances, trips, card and game groups, educational programs, library, legal and medicare services, long term care counseling and state and federal income tax preparation.
